School holidays extended in Punjab? Information minister speaks
The Punjab government has denied the authenticity of a viral notification circulating on social media claiming an extension in school holidays due to rising tensions between Pakistan and India.
Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari clarified on Wednesday that no decision has been made regarding an extension of school holidays. She urged the public to ignore fake notifications and avoid spreading unverified information during this sensitive time.
“The notification being shared online is completely fake,” Bukhari said in a statement. “Any decision regarding school closures will be made based on ground realities and through official channels only.”
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat also confirmed that no such directive has been issued by the education department. “Academic activities will continue as usual from tomorrow,” he stated, adding that the viral notification is baseless and has no official standing.
