Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday revived the provincial government’s student laptop scheme after an eight-year pause.

She announced the distribution of high-performance 13th-generation Core i7 laptops to top-performing students nationwide, Express News reported.

The relaunch event took place at the historic University of Engineering and Technology (UET) in Lahore, where the chief minister personally handed out laptops to students and interacted with them directly, foregoing a formal speech from the stage.

As part of the first phase of the initiative, 14,000 students in the Lahore Division will receive laptops.
