A large protest erupted outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad on Thursday, as civil society activists denounced India’s recent actions under the guise of the alleged “false flag operation” in Pahalgam.

Chanting slogans against Indian aggression and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the demonstrators condemned what they termed “India’s water terrorism” and attempts to provoke regional instability.

Heavy police and security deployment was seen outside the mission as protestors surged toward the main gate, voicing anger over India’s alleged cross-border hostilities and the Pahalgam incident.

Organized by the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League, similar protests were held across various cities in the country. Participants warned that if India continued to escalate tensions, it could lead to consequences not just for the region but for global peace.

The demonstrators referenced past incidents to highlight Indian hostilities, including the arrest of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav and the return of captured Indian pilot Abhinandan.

“India must not be under any illusions. If you block our waters, we will block your breath,” said one protester. Another added, “There will be blood in these rivers if you continue this aggression.”

Chants denouncing Indian double standards and cultural hypocrisy were also echoed, with speakers urging Pakistan to respond with strength and unity.

The protest comes amid renewed tensions between India and Pakistan following a deadly attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which New Delhi has blamed on Islamabad – a claim Pakistan has strongly denied.
