Govt proposes Rs2 trillion for development programme in budget 2025-26
The federal government is planning to allocate Rs2 trillion under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) in the upcoming fiscal year to fast-track the completion of ongoing projects, sources revealed.
According to initial proposals, the funds will primarily be used to finish ongoing development schemes, with fewer than 100 new projects expected to be added to the PSDP.
Sources further disclosed that around 230 projects are expected to be completed by the end of the current fiscal year, while 168 ongoing schemes may be dropped from the PSDP.
A total of 650 development projects will be included under next year’s PSDP, and the overall development spending may be revised down from Rs11 trillion to Rs9 trillion.
