The Pakistani rupee experienced a marginal increase against the US dollar, appreciating by 0.06% during the early trading hours in the inter-bank market.

By 10:20am, the rupee was valued at 280.43, marking a gain of Re0.17 from the previous trading session, where it closed at 280.60, on April 15.

Meanwhile, in international markets, the US dollar remained stable but close to a three-year low against the euro and a six-month low against the yen.

Traders are monitoring fluctuations in US tariffs, which have caused uncertainty among investors.

In early Asian trading, the dollar index, which measures the US currency against six others, stood at 99.864, reflecting a drop of over 4% this month, indicating significant market shifts.

Oil prices have risen slightly, supported by changes in tariff exemptions proposed by US President Donald Trump and a rebound in Chinese crude oil imports.
