Two dead, one injured in landslide at Karak’s salt mine

Landslide occurred while the workers were present, say rescue officials

At least two people died and one was injured in a salt mine in the Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to a landslide.

Rescue officials reported that the landslide occurred while the workers were present.

The injured miner, along with the bodies of the deceased, were taken to the DHQ Hospital Karak for medical care and necessary arrangements.

The victims have been identified as Hidayatullah and Rasool Zaman.

In similar incident, the chief mines inspector said at least 11 people were killed in a coal mine gas leak in Balochistan’s Quetta last year.
