In Karachi, the alleged murderer of a gold medalist named Irtiza, who resisted a robbery, escaped from the court on Tuesday.

The suspect, Zahir, had been sent to jail in the Irtiza’s murder case and was allegedly affiliated with the Khuzdar group.

A few days ago, in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 7, two armed men on a motorcycle robbed Irtiza and then shot and killed him. The suspects also took Irtiza’s motorcycle as they fled the scene. After the incident, the Sindh government faced severe criticism from all quarters.

The Karachi CIA conducted a raid in Quetta and claimed to have arrested the killer of the gold medalist.

Irtiza was the gold medalist mechanical engineer and was the son of a former Nazima (president) of the Jamia Karachi chapter of the Islami Jamiat Talaba.

Irtiza’s elder brother, Ibad Moeen, is a lecturer at Jamia Hamdard, while Irtiza was also a close relative of Jamia Hamdard Registrar Kaleem Ghiyas.
