A father survived and his teenage son got injured after two men on a motorcycle mistaken them for robbers and opened fire at them in Karachi on Thursday, eyewitnesses said.

Onlookers in the city’s New Karachi area added that the unidentified men fled from the Saleem Centre before saying that it was a mistake. The wounded, who was named Owais, was shifted to hospital.

They added that the father and son were targeted from the back.

In the recent past, many people in the city have been keeping arms with them for their safety amid a rise in street crimes.
