Security guard rapes Swedish UN officer in Islamabad

Victim is in police custody and investigation is underway

ISLAMABAD: A security guard raped his Swedish employer, employee working for the United Nations in Islamabad was raped by a security guard employed at her residence, police said on Thursday.

The woman told police that the guard entered her bedroom, tried to suffocate her and raped her when she lost consciousness, said police official Munir Ahmed.

The Aabpara police station has registered the first information report under Sections 376 and 377 of Pakistan Penal Code and have already taken the accused into custody for investigation.

The FIR states that the guard was posted at the officer’s residence in March.

The UN agency and the Swedish embassy in Islamabad did not comment.
