The joint session of Pakistan’s parliament will be held at 3 pm on Monday at the Parliament House, instead of the originally scheduled 10:30 am, the National Assembly spokesperson said.
The change in timing was made by President Asif Ali Zardari, who will address the joint session, the spokesperson added.
In view of the current security situation, strict measures have been implemented by the National Assembly Secretariat. Entry of unrelated persons will be completely prohibited, and guests will not be allowed. Members of parliament have been requested not to bring any guests.
Only journalists holding a valid 2026 press gallery card for the National Assembly and Senate will be permitted to cover the session, and only one cameraman per channel will be allowed inside, according to the Secretariat.
These arrangements have been put in place following directives from the relevant authorities, citing a serious security situation surrounding the event.
