The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday forecast cold and partly cloudy weather across most parts of the country, with smog and fog likely to affect visibility in several plain areas.
According to the Met Office, intense cold conditions are expected during night and early morning hours in upper regions. Islamabad and adjoining areas are likely to experience cold and partly cloudy weather.
In Punjab, most districts will remain cold and foggy, while smog is expected in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Sahiwal and Sheikhupura. Light rain may occur at isolated locations.
The PMD said light rain is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat and Kohistan, with snowfall expected over the surrounding hills.
Most districts of Balochistan are forecast to remain cold and dry. Severe cold conditions are likely to persist in Quetta, Qila Abdullah, Zhob and Pishin.
In Sindh, cold and dry weather is expected in most districts, while fog may form during night and morning hours in Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana and Mohenjo Daro.
Cold and partly cloudy weather is also forecast for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, with chances of rain at a few places and light snowfall over the mountains.
