PNS SAIF concludes Maldives visit, holds naval drills with Coast Guard

Pakistan Navy Ship SAIF visited the Port of Male during its ongoing overseas deployment, where it received a warm welcome from Maldivian authorities.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the visit, Mission Commander Commodore Muhammad Zeshan Nabi Sheikh met Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy and Coast Guard Commandant Brigadier General Mohamed Saleem.

Discussions focused on regional maritime security, defence cooperation, and future naval engagements.

The mission commander also met Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the Maldives, Vice Admiral (Retd) Faisal Rasul Lodhi, and conveyed warm greetings from Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf to the Maldivian leadership and people.

The ship hosted a reception attended by government officials, diplomats, and members of the Pakistani community. Visitors were briefed on the Pakistan Navy’s regional security contributions and humanitarian initiatives.

After completing the port call, PNS SAIF conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with the Maldives Coast Guard to strengthen operational coordination and maritime interoperability.

The Pakistan Navy said regular ship visits to the Maldives reflect the close and growing defence partnership between the two countries.
