Govt mulling ferry service for pilgrims, says Sardar Yousuf

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf on Thursday said the government is taking steps to improve land and sea routes for Hajj pilgrims and is considering the introduction of a new ferry service to facilitate them.

Addressing the International Ulema and Mashaikh Conference in Islamabad, the minister described Milad and Seerat gatherings as vital platforms for promoting harmony and unity among the Muslim Ummah.

He appreciated the participation of renowned scholars representing various schools of thought, terming their presence a symbol of unity.

“Scholars from all schools of thought are part of the ministry’s Ulema and Mashaikh Council,” he added.

Emphasising the importance of mutual respect despite differences of opinion, Sardar Yousuf highlighted the pivotal role of religious scholars in fostering peace and national cohesion.

He stressed that Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance, adding that harmony and unity are essential for success in both this world and the hereafter.
