A senior police official has gone missing in Balochistan, raising concerns among authorities.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mastung, Rafiq Hamza Mengal, went missing while travelling from Hub to Mastung, and no trace of him has been found even after 24 hours.
According to police officials, DSP Rafiq Hamza had returned to the Hub checkpoint from Mashkay, his native village in Awaran District, after attending his mother’s funeral.
On Thursday afternoon, he departed from Hub for Mastung to join his duties.
The officials said that he had reached Surab on the National Highway, but since then, there has been no contact, and his mobile phone has been switched off.
Speaking on the matter, Deputy Commissioner Mastung Behram Saleem confirmed that there were reports of DSP Rafiq Hamza’s disappearance, and inquiries are underway.
Police have launched a search operation to locate him.
