The government announced fresh petroleum prices, with the Finance Ministry issuing an official notification late Monday.
According to the statement, petrol prices will remain unchanged for the next 15 days, at Rs264.61 per litre.
However, the price of high-speed diesel has been raised by Rs2.78, bringing the new rate to Rs272.77 per litre.
The government reviews petroleum prices on a fortnightly basis, adjusting them in line with global market trends and domestic considerations.
It is worth noting that on September 1, the government had also decided to keep petrol unchanged at Rs264.61 per litre while reducing high-speed diesel by Rs3 per litre.
