Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday expressed sorrow over the martyrdom of innocent and peaceful civilians in the firing by Kharijites in the Tirah Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The prime minister directed that immediate medical assistance be provided to the injured while strongly condemning the targeting of peaceful citizens by the Kharijites.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the heinous intentions of terrorists cannot shake our resolve, and we will defeat terrorism and terrorists and bring them to their logical end.
On the other hand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also expressed deep sorrow and regret over the Tirah incident and announced assistance for the dead and injured.
The chief minister announced a compensation of Rs10 million for the families of those killed in the incident and Rs2.5 million each for the injured.
He expressed full sympathy with the families of the deceased and the injured in the Tirah incident.
Gandapur also called for a jirga comprising tribal elders and public representatives in Peshawar to hear local sentiments and concerns.
The chief minister also instructed the district administration and relevant authorities to strengthen public communication and maintain law and order.
He stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is committed to establishing lasting peace, ensuring public security, and promoting mutual respect.
Gandapur said that the All Parties Conference had seriously considered and formulated proposals to resolve these incidents and issues.
Gandapur further said that the series of jirgas involving tribal leaders and elders will begin at the divisional and then provincial levels from next week.
