Deadly crash on Hawks Bay Road claims lives of 4 family members

A tragic incident happened on Karachi’s Hawks Bay Road on Tuesday when the car of a family, returning from a picnic, collided with the wall of a drain due to speeding, resulting in the death of four family members.

The devastating crash also caused serious injuries to six others sustained severe injuries, three of whom are reported to be in critical condition.

The accident occurred as the family, which belongs to Punjab and comprised 10 members, was returning after spending the day at Hawks Bay.

According to reports, the car was speeding, and the driver likely lost control, causing the vehicle to crash directly into the concrete wall of a drain.

The injured were immediately rushed to the Civil Hospital Trauma Centre, where Dr Abdul Razaq, the in-charge, confirmed that out of the 10 people brought in, four could not survive.

He added that three individuals had sustained serious internal head injuries and were in critical condition, while the remaining three were in relatively better condition.

After the accident, DIG Traffic Police Pir Mohammad Shah visited the crash site and described the incident as “extremely unfortunate”.

Speaking to the media, he highlighted that this location is already considered hazardous and that effective measures are needed to regulate traffic on this road.

The family is in no condition to provide any statements, and the police have stated that a detailed investigation into the accident is ongoing.
