At least five people were killed and 41 other sustained injuries after a passenger bus overturned near the Chakri Interchange on Sunday.
According to the Motorway Police, the bus travelling from Rawalpindi to Lahore, skidded off the road and overturned into a ditch when the driver lost control due to slippery road conditions near the Chakri Interchange.
Emergency services, including rescue teams and Motorway Police, reached the scene and provided first aid to the injured.
The deceased and injured were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Chakwal and Benazir Bhutto Hospital in Rawalpindi for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that the bus was carrying 42 passengers at the time of the accident. In a miraculous turn, one woman survived the crash unharmed.
