Gandapur chairs meeting to review law, order in merged districts

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Wednesday presided over a meeting to assess the law and order situation in the newly merged districts, including North and South Waziristan.

Key decisions were made in the meeting to ensure the restoration of peace and the elimination of terrorism from the region.

As part of the outcomes, Gandapur has summoned an emergency session of members of the national and provincial assemblies hailing from the merged districts.

The goal is to develop a unified and coordinated strategy to counter terrorism effectively.

The meeting decided to form a government delegation that will consult with public representatives and various community groups from the merged districts.

In addition, it was agreed to convene an All Parties Conference (APC) to bring all political parties onto a single platform for peace efforts.

Speaking at the session, Chief Minister Gandapur emphasised that the need of the hour is unity among all political forces to adopt a collective stance for peace.

He stressed that a joint strategy is essential to restore law and order and that public representatives must speak with one voice against terrorism to formulate a decisive course of action.

He further noted that permanent peace in the merged districts can only be achieved through collective wisdom and consensus-driven decisions.

The meeting also included a detailed briefing on recent terrorist activities in the region and their broader implications.
