Tremors from a mild earthquake were felt in Lahore and its surrounding areas on Tuesday morning at 11:39am, sparking panic among residents. Many people rushed out of their homes and offices in fear.
According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake measured 4.4 on the Richter scale and struck at a depth of 14 kilometres. The epicentre was located 25 kilometres southwest of Lahore.
No casualties or property damage have been reported so far, but the tremors caused significant concern among citizens. Authorities from the Meteorological Department and Seismological Centre are closely monitoring the situation.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has received the initial earthquake report, confirming that tremors were also felt in Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, and Muridke.
According to the Director General of PDMA, administrative teams across Punjab are inspecting buildings for structural safety, while emergency response units remain on high alert in case of aftershocks.
