KP introduces new traffic violation fines for three-wheeled vehicles and underage drivers

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has introduced a new schedule of fines for traffic violations in the upcoming fiscal year’s budget. It also Includes separate slabs for three-wheeled vehicles and underage drivers.

According to the finance bill, rickshaws, chingchis, and loader vehicles will now officially fall under the category of three-wheeled vehicles.

Fines for traffic violations on these vehicles are proposed to range from Rs200 to Rs10,000.

Under the new proposed laws, a fine of Rs5,000 is suggested for the first violation of the route permit, with the penalty doubling for subsequent violations.

Strict measures have also been proposed regarding fake driving licenses, with fines of Rs5,000 to Rs10,000 for individuals driving with counterfeit licenses.

Additional restrictions have been placed on underage drivers.

The finance bill includes proposals for fines of Rs1,000 to Rs3,000 for motorcyclists under 18 years old, and a fine of Rs5,000 for driving small vehicles.

The aim of these new proposed fines is to improve traffic discipline and reduce the rate of accidents on the roads.

These amendments will be implemented province-wide after final approval.
