PMDC releases new MDCAT 2025 curriculum; Exam in late September or early October

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has released the new syllabus for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025.

The updated syllabus has been uploaded to the PMDC’s official website.

According to PMDC, the MDCAT exam is expected to be held on the last Sunday of September or the first Sunday of October this year.

The test will cover five core subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning.

The exam will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with a total duration of 3 hours. As per the announced structure, 15% of the questions will be easy, 70% moderate, and 15% difficult.

There will be no negative marking, and the entire test will be MCQ-based, confirmed PMDC President Prof. Rizwan Taj.

To qualify for admission, candidates must secure at least 55% marks for medical colleges and 50% for dental colleges.

The PMDC has also initiated the development of a question bank for the MDCAT.

The new syllabus has been designed in consultation with academic experts, education boards, and universities.

Prof. Rizwan Taj stated that the updated curriculum aims to ensure merit-based and transparent admission procedures.
