Over 4 persons arrested for spreading negative propaganda on social media in Mirpur

In a recent crackdown on individuals accused of spreading negative propaganda on social media, police have arrested four suspects.

Cases had been registered against the accused, according to the police spokesperson.The police started a crackdown by compiling a record of people spreading negative propaganda against national security institutions, the police spokesman told APP.

The police took action against such elements across the district and arrested 4 people including Khursheed Ahmed arrested by Police Station Dadial, Mazhar Iqbal netted by Police Station Islamgarh, Tayyab Sheikh arrested by Police Station Thothal and Azhar Qabaal nabbed by Chowki Jatlan for sharing negative propaganda and defamatory posts against national security institutions on social media, the spokesperson said.

An operation by police is underway against such elements across the district.SSP Mirpur Khawar Ali Shaukat has issued orders to the police stations of the district to take stringent action against such mischievous elements.

The District police chief emphasized that the public should not be a part of any such negative activity in the current situation by avoiding posting and commenting against the state functionaries.

Also, authorities in April, registered two cases against TikToker Kashif Zameer and a police officer for mocking the police uniform in a video posted on social media.
