The Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) new performance evaluation system is facing significant criticism from its own officials.
Reports reveal that several FBR officers have refused to accept rewards tied to designated “categories.”
An Assistant Collector’s letter addressed to the FBR Customs Collectorate pointed out that, despite their actual performance, they were placed in Category B, which was slated for three additional salaries as a reward.
The letter further noted that the officers responsible for performance assessments do not have direct contact with field officers, raising serious concerns about the system’s transparency.

In protest, the Assistant Collector has chosen to decline the additional salaries.
The officer emphasized that this decision is not aimed at any individual or institution, but rather a stance against the ambiguous practices of the performance evaluation system.
This dissent may lead to a reassessment of evaluation procedures within the FBR.
