Tragic dumper accidents claim 5 lives in Karachi

Karachi has witnessed another tragic incident involving speedy dumpers, resulting in the deaths of five individuals within just a few hours.

The latest accident occurred in the Malir Halt area, where a father and son lost their lives, and a woman sustained injuries on Thursday morning. The deceased, Saleem, was a father of six and worked as a watchman for a private company.

In a separate incident near Millennium Shopping Mall, a motorcycle was struck by a fast-moving dumper on Wednesday night, leading to the deaths of three people, including a couple, while two others were injured.

This year alone, Karachi has seen 71 fatalities and over 1,000 injuries from various traffic accidents, according to rescue agencies.

Governor Sindh, Kamran Tessori, has expressed his concerns regarding the rising number of fatal accidents involving dumpers.

He questioned why such incidents are predominantly occurring in Karachi and condemned the pattern of dump truck drivers fleeing the scene after causing accidents.
