16 injured in missile attack at Dubai Airport
A missile attack at Dubai International Airport left 16 people injured on Sunday, authorities confirmed.
The Dubai Media Office reported that smoke filled multiple areas of Terminal 3 after the attack, causing panic among passengers and staff.
Emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control.
Four of the injured received medical treatment, the office said, adding that security measures across the airport have been tightened.
Authorities stated that no major fire broke out, though some areas were temporarily evacuated due to smoke.
In a related incident, a fire broke out on the exterior of the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel during a drone interception operation.
The Dubai Fire Brigade contained the blaze. No casualties were reported, though the hotel sustained minor damage.
The UAE Ministry of Defence issued a new alert following the missile attack, instructing residents to move immediately to safe shelters.
According to the ministry, 132 missiles launched from Iran were intercepted mid-air, along with 195 drones.
Authorities stressed that the country’s defence systems remain fully operational and the situation is being closely monitored.
Meanwhile, in Doha, Qatar, residents reported hearing dozens of explosions across the city.
According to Arab media outlets, around 15 to 20 separate blasts were heard across the city.
Qatari authorities confirmed that Iranian forces targeted Al Udeid Airbase, using 65 missiles and 12 drones.
The attacks have heightened security concerns across the region, forcing officials to issue advisories to residents to stay calm.
Government authorities urged the public to follow official advisories and avoid unverified reports.
