Security forces kill 10 terrorists in Zhob operation: ISPR
Security forces killed 10 more terrorists during a comprehensive clearance and sanitisation operation in Balochistan’s Zhob district, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on February 25 as a follow-up to an intelligence-based operation carried out a day earlier in which eight Indian-sponsored terrorists were neutralised.
The latest action targeted militants belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij.
Troops tracked down terrorists hiding along multiple routes in the area and effectively engaged their positions.
Following an intense exchange of fire, 10 terrorists were killed, ISPR said, adding that weapons, ammunition and explosive materials were recovered from their possession.
The killed militants were involved in several terrorist activities in the region.
Security forces have continued sanitisation operations in the area to eliminate any remaining militants, ISPR added.
Security forces reaffirmed that counter-terrorism operations under the National Action Plan’s Federal Apex Committee-approved vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” would continue at full pace until foreign-sponsored terrorism is eradicated from the country.
The development follows a series of high-tempo intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan in recent days, during which security forces killed dozens of terrorists linked to outlawed groups.
