Four terrorists killed in Lakki Marwat operation: ISPR
Security forces killed four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Lakki Marwat District, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the operation was conducted on the night of February 18-19 on credible intelligence regarding the presence of khwarij linked to an Indian proxy, Fitna al-Khwarij.
Troops effectively engaged the militants’ location, triggering an intense exchange of fire that resulted in the killing of four khwarij.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists, who were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities and were wanted by law enforcement agencies.
The ISPR said a clearance and sanitisation operation is continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining threats and ensure complete security.
ISPR added that the counter-terrorism campaign will proceed at full pace under Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, to eradicate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
