President Zardari urges global cooperation against terrorism
President Asif Ali Zardari has thanked the international community for expressing solidarity with Pakistan, saying messages of sympathy have brought solace to the Pakistani people and strength to bereaved families.
Speaking on the threat of terrorism, Zardari said the Afghan Taliban have created a more dangerous situation than before the 9/11 era.
He stressed that the fight against terrorism is a shared responsibility and that no single country can tackle it alone.
“Some neighbouring countries have become partners in crime by allowing terrorist elements to carry out operations against Pakistan from their soil,” the President said.
He added that when terrorist groups are allowed space, facilitation, or immunity beyond national borders, innocent citizens around the world bear the consequences.
