Noose tightened around katcha area bandits, says minister
Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar said on Sunday that the state’s writ is firmly established in the province, including the katcha area.
In a statement, Lanjar said that due to tough government action, criminal elements are under pressure and gripped by fear.
The minister said that 26 dacoits surrendered in Kashmore, while 12 more laid down their arms in Sukkur and handed themselves over to law enforcement authorities.
“The state’s writ in the katcha area is strong. Criminal elements are under pressure and fear,” the minister said, adding that operations against bandits will continue until complete peace is restored and crime is eliminated.
He said the operation in the riverine belt would become more intense and effective over time, stressing that the government has shown the path to peace.
“We have shown the way to peace. Those who choose to follow it will be welcomed,” Lanjar said.
According to the Sindh home minister, dacoits, their hideouts and facilitators will eventually be eliminated as the government will continue to pursue its targets until the last dacoit is eradicated.
