Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a reduction in electricity tariffs, tax relief, and special facilities for exporters to support the industrial and export sectors.

Addressing a ceremony honouring prominent exporters and businessmen, the Prime Minister said electricity tariffs for industries would be reduced by Rs4.4 per unit and wheeling charges for industrial consumers cut by Rs9 per unit, aiming to lower production costs and promote business.

He added that the tax rate for exporters would be reduced from 7.5% to 4% and announced the granting of Blue Passports for two years to award-winning exporters and key business figures to facilitate their international work.

PM highlighted the government’s efforts to stabilise the economy, noting that inflation is in single digits, the policy rate has dropped from 22% to 10.5%, and foreign reserves have doubled.

He credited international support from countries including China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.

PM emphasised that economic reforms, transparency, privatisation, tax reduction, promotion of investment, and strict action against smuggling and corruption are ongoing.

He said the patience and hard work of the nation will lead Pakistan towards development and prosperity.
