Fire claims life of 80-year-old man at Karachi clinic
An 80-year-old man died after a fire broke out at a clinic located in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar area on Wednesday.
According to the Karachi Fire Brigade, the blaze was brought under control with the assistance of a fire tender.
Police identified the deceased as Usman, who reportedly caused the fire by placing a burning cigarette on a mobile phone inside the clinic.
The clinic was located on the ground floor of a residential building, and police confirmed that it belongs to the deceased’s son.
Usmanused to live in a flat above the clinic. No other injuries were reported, and authorities are investigating the incident further.
