Cold wave grips Pakistan as rain, snow continue in many areas
Cloudy skies and intermittent rain continued across Islamabad as a chilling cold wave affects much of the country.
The Meteorological Department has forecast more rain and snowfall over the next 24 hours in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan, with a risk of landslides and avalanches.
Lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, and northern Balochistan are expected to remain cloudy, with strong winds and scattered thundershowers at a few places.
Malam Jabba recorded the highest rainfall at 42 mm, along with 21 inches of snowfall. Other snowfall figures include Ziarat 12 inches, Murree 6.5 inches, and Kalam 5 inches.
Minimum temperatures: Gilgit minus 2°C, Quetta minus 1°C, Muzaffarabad 2°C, Islamabad 6°C, Peshawar 7°C, Lahore 9°C, and Karachi 13°C.
