A rain-bearing weather system has entered the country, bringing showers to several parts of Lahore and turning the weather cool and pleasant, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Rain was reported in multiple localities, including Davis Road, Shimla Pahari, Abbott Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Mall Road and surrounding areas. The showers led to a noticeable drop in temperature, with Lahore recording 17 degrees Celsius.

The rainfall also helped reduce air pollution levels. The city’s overall Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 181, indicating an improvement compared to previous days.

The PMD advised citizens to take precautionary measures due to the cold weather, especially during early morning and late-night hours. Officials said the rain spell is expected to continue intermittently until morning.

Authorities urged motorists to remain cautious on wet roads as light rain may persist across parts of the city.
