Traders estimate losses of over Rs3 billion in Gul Plaza fire

Traders have estimated that goods worth Rs3 billion have been destroyed in the devastating Gul Plaza fire.

Leader of the traders association Atiq Mir said that each shop had stocks valued between Rs2.5 million and Rs3 million, much of which was purchased in preparation for the upcoming Eid.

Another trader said that the tragedy resulted in the loss of goods worth crores, calling on the government to support affected merchants.

MA Jinnah Road closed

Following the fire, MA Jinnah Road has been closed to general traffic. According to the city traffic police, vehicles travelling from the Tibet Centre towards Mazar-e-Quaid are being diverted to alternative routes, while traffic from Sea Breeze Plaza towards the Mereweather Tower is being redirected towards Saddar.
