At least two people were killed and several others injured after a Flying Coach bus met with an accident in Upper Chitral, prompting a swift rescue operation by the Pakistan Army despite difficult terrain and severe weather conditions.

The bus, travelling from Peshawar to Chitral, veered off the road near Koragh along a riverbank. Thirteen passengers were on board at the time of the accident, officials said.

Pakistan Army personnel reached the site shortly after the incident and provided immediate first aid to the injured. Rescue teams later shifted the wounded to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital in Booni for further medical treatment.

Despite narrow and rugged roads, snowfall and harsh weather, the Army successfully completed the rescue operation. Passengers were moved to a safe location, where they were also provided with warm clothing to protect them from the cold.

Local residents expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Army for its timely intervention, praising the professionalism and dedication of the troops in carrying out the operation under challenging conditions.

The incident once again underscored the Pakistan Army’s role in emergency response and its continued commitment to assisting civilians in remote and high-risk areas.
