The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) launched its march from Karachi to Hyderabad today (Saturday) as part of its street movement. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi led the procession.

The procession departed from the Sohrab Goth area of Karachi, where PTI workers had gathered in big number.

Speaking to the media at the Toll Plaza, Afridi said that he and his party received a warm welcome in Karachi.

Referring to PTI’s plan to hold a big public meeting in Karachi on Sunday, he said, “So far, we have not received written permission for the rally.“

“We are holding political meetings here. Just as other party leaders have the right to engage in politics, the same principle should be applied to us,” he remarked.

He added that the party leadership had given him the mandate to negotiate and coordinate political engagements.

Afridi criticised the Punjab government’s attitude towards his party during his visit to Lahore, calling it “unfavourable.”

The chief minister, accompanied by his official convoy and protocol, then departed for Hyderabad.

During his visit to Hyderabad, Chief Minister Afridi is expected to have a busy schedule.

He will meet senior lawyers, followed by meetings with leaders of like-minded political parties.

Afridi will also speak at an event organised by the party’s women’s wing and the ISF convention, and visit various areas across the city.

After completing the engagements in Hyderabad, CM Afridi is expected to return to Karachi later tonight.
