Arshad Nadeem wins Global Breakthrough Athlete award in UAE
Pakistan’s Olympic javelin champion Arshad Nadeem was awarded the Global Breakthrough Athlete prize at the World Sports Summit in Dubai on Monday.
The two-day summit, taking place on December 29-30, brings together over 1,500 athletes, sports leaders, and policymakers to discuss the future of the industry under the theme “Uniting the World Through Sport,” according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah and other officials praised the achievement. “Arshad Nadeem is our pride,” Tarar said on X.
Nadeem made history in August 2024 by winning Pakistan’s first Olympic gold in javelin with a 92.97-meter throw at the Paris Games. He has also secured medals at the Commonwealth and Asian Games.
In November 2025, Nadeem added another gold at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a throw of 83.05 metres.
