Clashes have erupted between Afghanistan’s National Resistance Front (NRF) and Taliban forces in the northern province of Baghlan, with the NRF claiming it killed three Taliban officials.

In a statement, the NRF said Taliban forces launched an attack on one of its positions in Nahrin district of Baghlan, prompting retaliation by NRF fighters.

The group claimed that three Taliban fighters were killed in the exchange of fire and that Taliban forces were forced to retreat due to strong resistance.

Separately, the NRF also reported clashes with Taliban forces in Panjshir province.

According to the NRF, a total of 17 Taliban members, including the group’s chief of staff in the area, were killed during fighting in Panjshir.

The statement further alleged that Taliban forces also shot dead a local shepherd.

The National Resistance Front described both incidents as part of its ongoing resistance operations against the Taliban.

However, the claims could not be independently verified.

The Taliban have so far not issued any official response regarding the incidents reported in Baghlan and Panjshir. Tensions remain high in the affected areas.
