Rawalpindi authorities have extended Section 144 until December 24, imposing a strict ban on public gatherings, rallies, processions, and meetings.

Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema issued the notification, warning that assemblies of more than four people will face strict action.

The use of loudspeakers is also prohibited under the order.

The extension follows earlier restrictions that were set to expire on December 17.
