The Supreme Court on Tuesday announced the reconstitution of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP), and the Practice and Procedure Committee in accordance with the 27th Constitutional Amendment.

According to an official statement issued by the Supreme Court, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail has been inducted as a member of the Supreme Judicial Council following consultations between the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court.

Justice Aamer Farooq has been nominated as a member of the Judicial Commission, while Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail has also been appointed to the Practice and Procedure Committee.

Chief Justice Yahya Afridi will head the reconstituted Supreme Judicial Council, while Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan will serve as the second senior member.

Other members include Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Hasan Rizvi, and Justice Jamal Mandokhail.

The statement further clarified that Justice Mandokhail’s nomination was made with the consensus of both chief justices to ensure transparency and improve the functioning of judicial institutions.

The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has likewise been reconstituted, with Justice Aamer Farooq nominated as a member through joint consultation.

The Practice and Procedure Committee will be chaired by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, with Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Jamal Mandokhail serving as members.

The reconstitution of all three bodies — the SJC, JCP, and Practice and Procedure Committee — has been carried out under the provisions of the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
