The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday announced the schedule for the by-election for the vacant general seat of the Senate from Punjab, which became vacant following the death of Senator Irfan Siddiqui.

According to the schedule, candidates can submit their nomination papers on November 20 and 21, 2025.

The scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted on November 25. Appeals against the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers can be filed by November 27.

Candidates will have the opportunity to withdraw their nominations until December 1.

Polling for the vacant Senate seat is scheduled for December 9 from 9am to 4pm at the Provincial Assembly Building in Punjab.

A spokesperson for the Provincial Election Commissioner of Punjab said strict compliance with the election schedule will be ensured.

The ECP notification also stated that the final list of candidates will be published on November 30, ahead of the polling day.
