ECP issues notice to Talal Chaudhry for violating election code
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday issued a notice to Minister of State for Interior Senator Talal Chaudhry over alleged violations of the election code of conduct.
According to the spokesperson for the ECP Punjab, the notice was issued in connection with Chaudhry’s visit to Faisalabad’s PP-116 constituency and his subsequent media talk.
The spokesperson said the District Monitoring Officer (DMO) Faisalabad issued the notice, stating that Talal Chaudhry’s activities contravened the Election Act 2017 and the election code of conduct.
Talal Chaudhry has been directed to submit his response within two days.
The ECP Punjab spokesperson added that the DMO has been instructed to send a detailed report to the Election Commission in Islamabad.
