Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have strongly rejected recent reports in the digital magazine of The Economist group alleging misconduct and undue influence by Bushra Bibi, wife of former prime minister Imran Khan, describing them as false, defamatory, and part of a character assassination campaign.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan termed the article “shameful and baseless” and said the party has the right to pursue legal action against it.

Speaking in response, he emphasised that Bushra Bibi is currently imprisoned solely due to her relation to the PTI founder Imran Khan, and that previous false allegations against her had been dismissed by the courts.

He described the new report as a fabricated story aimed at damaging her reputation and that of PTI’s founder.

Senior PTI leader Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif also dismissed the reports as “fabricated and unfounded,” alleging that they are part of a coordinated campaign to tarnish Bushra Bibi’s image.

He warned that such efforts would fail, asserting that justice would ultimately prevail and labelling the campaign as a reflection of the opponents’ moral decline and political desperation.
