PTI expels Senator Saifullah Abro over vote for 27th Amendment
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has expelled Senator Saifullah Abro from the party for voting in favour of the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
In a post on social media platform X, PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram confirmed that Abro’s party membership had been terminated.
Earlier, Senator Saifullah Abro announced his resignation from the Senate seat.
Speaking in the Upper House on Monday, Abro said he had voted in favour of the amendment “because the Pakistan Army humiliated India in war.”
“I am proud of General Asim Munir’s leadership — it was because of him that I voted for the amendment,” he said.
The senator further remarked, “President Trump accorded Field Marshal Asim Munir extraordinary respect — a level of honour that no prime minister or president has ever received.”
