KP speaker convenes peace jirga on November 12
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati has convened a peace jirga on November 12, in line with recommendations made by the Special Security Committee.
According to official sources, the jirga will be held at the KP Assembly Hall in Peshawar.
It aims to bring together leaders from all political parties, former chief ministers, civil society representatives, bar association presidents, and senior provincial figures to discuss peace and security initiatives.
In preparation for the jirga, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) meeting was held, jointly chaired by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and PTI provincial president Junaid Akbar.
The meeting reviewed arrangements and discussed the strategy for the upcoming peace dialogue.
The session was attended by Speaker Swati, provincial ministers, and PTI members of the National Assembly.
Participants exchanged views on various aspects of the jirga and the province’s future peace strategy.
