Punjab battles dengue surge as cases cross 3,000 this year
The dengue outbreak continues to grip Punjab as 23 new cases were reported in the province over the past 24 hours, the health department said on Tuesday.
According to a spokesperson for the provincial health department, 338 dengue cases have been recorded during the past seven days, while a total of 1,486 cases have been confirmed so far this month.
This year, 3,097 dengue patients have been reported across Punjab, with 565 cases from Lahore, 1,371 from Rawalpindi, and 122 from Murree, the spokesperson added.
Health authorities have advised citizens to take preventive measures, including eliminating standing water and using mosquito repellents, as dengue transmission remains active in several parts of the province.
