In a major step toward tech-driven policing, the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA) has deployed advanced docking drones in Lahore to monitor criminal activity and improve emergency response.

According to a PSCA spokesperson, the drones will be dispatched automatically through an integrated system as soon as a call is received on the emergency helpline 15.

Once airborne, the drones will capture photos and videos from the scene and transmit them directly to the Safe City control room.

The drones are currently undergoing a test run from the PSCA headquarters. During the trial phase, they will be deployed for traffic monitoring and protest-related calls.

Virtual patrolling officers will monitor the live footage to assist field police units in real time.

Initially, the pilot project covers areas under 10 major police stations in Lahore. The drones have been installed on tall buildings with automated docking and charging stations.

Officials say that once the pilot phase proves successful, the system will be expanded across Punjab.

The PSCA expects the new technology to significantly improve response time to emergency helpline 15 calls and enhance surveillance capabilities across the city.
