Diplo claims to have dated both Justin Trudeau, the former prime minister of Canada, and Katy Perry.

During an appearance on the Smart Girl Dumb Questions podcast, the 46-year-old DJ made the shocking assertion while talking about Perry, 41, with whom he was briefly associated in 2014.

Diplo remarked, “And now Katy Perry is dating Justin. Pretty fire.”

“Dated Katy Perry, like me?” Diplo interrupted presenter Nayeema Raza as she started to remark that she knew “so many individuals who kind of” Then he reiterated, “I did.”

Raza said, “I meant Trudeau,” to which Diplo joked, “I did date Trudeau too.” However, that one was peculiar. Politicians don’t appeal to me.

Later, the podcast made it clear that Diplo was making a joke.

Diplo agreed with Raza when she said she thought Trudeau was handsome, saying, “He is sort of hot.”

Diplo’s remarks follow Perry’s apparent confirmation of her alleged romance with Trudeau during her Thursday performance in Prague.

Perry was first seen dining with Trudeau in Montreal in July. Perry recently broke her long-term relationship with Orlando Bloom.

When they celebrated her 41st birthday together in Paris last month, it seemed as though they were confirming their relationship.

While Trudeau and his ex-wife, Sophie Grégoire, divorced in 2023, Perry and Bloom have a five-year-old daughter named Daisy.

Ella-Grace Margaret, the couple’s 16-year-old daughter, is one of their three daughters.
