Karachi students dominate MDCAT 2025 results across Sindh
Students from Karachi outperformed all other regions in the MDCAT 2025 examination, securing the top three positions and dominating the top ten list, according to results announced by IBA Sukkur University.
Out of 124 candidates in the top ten merit bracket, 41 belonged to Karachi, underscoring the city’s strong academic performance in medical entrance exams across Sindh.
The results showed that 56% of MBBS and 48% of BDS candidates failed to achieve the minimum passing marks, highlighting the overall difficulty of this year’s test.
A total of 14,300 candidates scored 55% or above in MBBS, while 17,123 candidates achieved 50% or higher in BDS.
Syed Mahmood Khan from Karachi secured the first position with 175 marks out of 180.
Faisal Ashraf Khan from Korangi and Shiraz Hussain from Qambar Shahdadkot jointly took the second position with 174 marks each.
The third position was shared by Muhammad Rayyan Humayun and Mahnoor Shah Nawaz from Karachi, along with Hira Abid from Hyderabad — all scoring 173 marks.
